Our involvement in the Giurgiu project started more than a year before the court was actually built. During that time, we worked closely with the developer, proposing our solution for the new squash facility.

After several rounds of discussions, we were eventually informed that the project had been awarded to a different supplier for an unknown reason. But then, unexpectedly, the project came back to us.

The Romanian Squash Federation approached ASB with a request to support the installation of a squash court at Poiana Cailor in Giurgiu. Once we reviewed the situation, it quickly became clear that the originally supplied solution was incomplete and would require additional elements and expertise to become a fully operational squash court.

Rather than simply stepping in to install someone else’s system, we saw an opportunity to provide the complete ASB solution.

The existing supplied components were replaced where necessary, and ASB took responsibility for delivering what was ultimately required: a complete, professionally installed squash court, ready for use.

The result was very positively received by the end user — an exclusive private polo club — and the project became a great example of why the lowest initial price does not always represent the simplest or most complete solution.

Sometimes, the project takes a detour before it finds its way home.

And perhaps the final lesson is a simple one: when investing in a squash court, choose your supplier carefully. Look beyond the initial price and make sure the offer covers the complete solution — materials, documentation, installation, expertise and, ultimately, responsibility for the finished court.

Because a squash court is not just a set of components. It is a complete system — and the right supplier makes all the difference.
